The Allied Telesyn SwitchBlade AT-SB4108 is an 8-line card modular switch system supporting up to 128Gbps of backplane bandwidth, wire-speed non-blocking Layer 2, Layer 3, and Layer 4+ switching, IP/IPX routing, advanced policy-based Quality of Service, rich multicast support, and comprehensive configuration and control features, in a modular 8-slot chassis.
As part of the AT-SB4000 series, the AT-SB4108 also offers extensive Layer 2 and Layer 3 features including IP/IPX/Appletalk routing and filtering, routing protocols (RIP/RIPv2, OSPF, BGP4, IS-IS), multicast protocols (IGMP, IGMP Snooping, DVMRP, PIM-SM, PIM-DM), full 4k VLANs and flexible link aggregation.
The AT-SB4108's robust architecture makes it ideal for multiple tenant unit and central point aggregation for Metro Area Networks (MAN) and campus networks, and as an enterprise mid-tier aggregation device with hot-swappable switch controllers, power supplies, line cards and redundant cooling fans, VRRP and RSTP to ensure 24/7 operation.
For education and government networks requiring separation of multicast traffic or dual staff and student networks all running over a single infrastructure, the SB4108 offers wide-ranging Quality of Service features operating at wire-speed to provide flow-based traffic management with full prioritization and classification, and min/max bandwidth profiles on each port, combinmed with very low latency.
