The Compaq ProLiant 8000 server is designed for mission-critical environments and offers an excellent combination of high performance and high availability features, with eight processors, 16GB of SDRAM, eleven PCI slots, next generation PCI Hot Plug and redundant hot plug power supplies and fans in a 14U form factor.

The ProLiant 8000 delivers the performance and uptime required to meet the current and future demands of enterprise server consolidation, e-business, ERP, thin client and data mining applications.

• Supports one to eight Intel 900 MHz or 700 MHz Pentium III Xeon processors with 1-MB and 2-MB L2 Cache (900 MHz available in 2-MB Cache only)
• 100-MHz SDRAM DIMM memory that is expandable to 16 GB
• Ten 64-bit PCI and one 32-bit PCI I/O expansion slots (2 x 66 MHz, 9 x 33 MHz) all PCI Hot Plug
• Integrated Compaq NC3131 Fast Ethernet NIC Dual Port 64 PCI 10/100 in a slot, upgradable to Gigabit
• Smart Array 4250ES Controller (cableless) with available optional redundancy
• Internal hot plug disk capacity of 1.528 TB (21 x 72.8-GB 1" hot plug Wide Ultra2/Ultra3 SCSI hard drive)
