The Digi ClassicBoard serial card family provides an array of ISA- and PCI- based options and is available with 16C654 UARTs with a 64 byte FIFO, delivering optimum throughput up to 460.8 Kbps, with built-in surge protection.
The Digi ClassicBoard is best suited to applications where the CPU is able to devote some of its resources to handling computations or to real time applications that require short latency time intervals, including cash registers, print receipt devices, scanners, and other peripheral devices in retail POS systems.
