EMC Data Manager (EDM) provides LAN-less, server-less, nondisruptive backup and recovery capabilities to protect your Enterprise Storage Network (ESN). EDM supports all major environments and platforms, and is capable of backing up virtually all systems attached to your ESN - NAS, SAN or both - from supported EDM-connected servers and clients toSymmetrix volumes, to locally attached server storage.

EMC Data Manager supports the NAS environment through bi-modal backup of EMC Celerra file server, so shared Unix and NT volumes can be backed up and restored in a single operation.
