EMC Fastrax data movement platform is a high performance backup and recovery data movement solution designed for direct, bi-directional movement of data between EMC Symmetrix storage systems and high performance tape or other secondary storage, without any server, application, or network impact.

Data recovery takes place over the same high-speed paths as the Fastrax-enabledbackup, again independent of application servers, LANs or server-to-storagebandwidth. Recovery at a disaster recovery location can also be performed by anordinary server in the event that Fastrax is unavailable.
