Fujitsu Siemens FlexFrame for mySAP Business Suite is an infrastructure solution for mySAP environments, making use of the latest virtualisation technology to deliver major cost savings and increased flexibility for SAP customers.
FlexFrame replaces past environments of many dedicated, complex servers with a modular concept that incorporates the latest blade server technology, allowing mySAP solutions to be consolidated onto a single easily manageable platform. Instead of rigid hardware and software configurations, FlexFrame uses the unique capabilities of SAP NetWeaver along with new virtualisation technology to build virtual bridges. Application servers
The innovative technology of the new Fujitsu Primergy blade servers makes them ideal as mySAP application servers in the FlexFrame environment.
Fujitsu Primergy blade servers come with either one or two processors, main memory, hard disks and LAN-interfaces on a plug-in card (the blade). There is capacity for up to 20 server blades in one chassis which only requires three units of rack space, making it possible to house up to 300 servers in a single 19-inch rack.
Database servers
The high-end 4 and 8 way Fujitsu Primergy servers featuring Intel Xeon MP technology form the typical database servers in a FlexFrame solution. Where there is a demand for high performance and availability for very large databases, the Sparc/Solaris based Fujitsu Primerpower server is a more suitable choice.
Storage
FlexFrame uses Network Appliance Filers as the centralized storage solution. These scalable and highly available products are easy to install and easy to administer. They incorporate technology for fast and efficient online replication, backup, recovery and point-in-time copies.
FlexFrame handles variations in workload by reassigning available capacity in a matter of seconds meaning high levels of performance are maintained and resources are used efficiently. With less implementation costs and lower administration costs due to a much simpler architecture, FlexFrame not only significantly increases the ROI but also reduces TCO by a proven value of up to 65%.
