The Foundry FastIron 4802's are highly scalable wiring closet and Internet access switches offering high port density in a compact form factor with superior serviceability, wire-speed bandwidth management and QoS.

The FastIron 4802 Switch provides advanced Layer 2 features, including extensive support for dynamic VLANs, rich QoS features based on 802.1p, Type of Service, DiffServ, Redundant, load-sharing, hot-swappable power supplies.

• 48 x 10/100 ports and 2 x Gigabit Ethernet ports (Mini-GBIC) consuming just 1.5 rack units
• Integrated ASIC based wire-speed bandwidth provisioning, network monitoring and traffic accounting
• Hot swappable, redundant load sharing AC or DC power supplies
• Ships with full Layer 2 and base Layer3, Upgradeable to full Layer 3 including IP, IPX, AppleTalk, OSPF and BGP
