The Foundry Networks NetIron 40G is a next generation, terabit-capacity 10GbE (40Gig-ready) router offering wire-speed, non-blocking performance of up to 1.5 billion packets per second, per 7-foot telco rack.
The NetIron 40G router offers a complete and robust set of standards-based IP routing protocols, including BGP4, OSPF and IS-IS, designed to scale with service provider needs.
The efficient design of the NetIron 40G supports up to 32 10GbE and 320 1GbE ports per system and up to 96 10GbE and 960 1GbE ports per standard 7-foot telco rack, giving service providers over 4 Terabits of performance, with NEBS1 Level 3 compliance.
