HP OpenView Advanced Security provides secure communication for managing business-critical and business-sensitive systems, databases, and applications over unsecured network infrastructures, as an add-on component for HP OpenView Operations (OVO).

The HP OpenView Operations core product comes with standard protection against passive attacks (eavesdropping) by securing network traffic. With Advanced Security, the communication infrastructure is extended to support the authentication, encryption, and integrity of management data between management servers, agents and consoles.

• Out-of-the-box SSL (Secure Socket Layer) communication between Java UI and management server
• API for integrating a Generic Security Service (GSS) compliant PKI (public key infrastructure) solution to secure the agent-server and server-server communication
• Out-of-the-box ANS (secret key encryption) to secure the agent-server and server-server communication
• Security easily configured from OVO central management server
