Tivoli Storage Manager Extended Edition expands on the data backup and restore, and managed data archive and retrieve capabilities of the base Storage Manager product by adding disaster planning capability, NDMP control for NAS filers and support for large tape libraries.
Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) Extended Edition is an offline storage backup and archiving solution, protecting enterprise data from hardware failures and other errors. Storage Manager Extended Edition scales to protect hundreds of computers, on a wide range of operating systems, from laptops to mainframes and connected together via the internet, WAN or LAN.
- Broad platform support including IBM AIX, HP-UX, Windows 2000, Windows 2003, Sun Solaris, OS/400, OS/390, Suse and RedHat Linux on pSeries, xSeries and zSeries
- Intelligent data movement including progressive incremental backup, adaptive subfile backup, multi-threaded transfer, rapid recover, journal based backup, nondisruptive image backup and restore, compression and encryption
