The IBM TotalStorage 7206 family of tape drives are externally attached streaming tape drives designed for use with IBM eServer p5, pSeries and RS/6000 and eServer i5, iSeries and AS/400 workstations and servers.

The IBM 7206 tape drive comes in 2 models: Model 336 and Model VX2

• Up to 80GB capacity per cartridge (160GB with 2:1 compression)
• Up to 6MB/sec sustained data rate (12MB/sec with 2:1 compression)
• Cost-effective migration path from 4mm tape drives
