IBM Virtualisation Engine TS7700 is a mainframe virtual tape solution designed to optimise tape processing through the implementation of a fully integrated tiered storage hierarchy of disk and tape, providing the benefits of both technologies.

The TS7700 is designed to reduct or eliminate a number of bottlenecks that may be present in any given tape environment.

• Up to 18 TB native tape volume cache
• Maximum of 768 virtual drives and 1,000,000 virtual volumes
• Attach up to 48 TS1100 or 3592 tape drives
• Up to 12 4 Gbps FICON channels
• Web-based management tools
