The nCipher nShield F2 Hardware Security Module (HSM) is a hardware-based secure key management platform for enhancing the performance and security of applications that use cryptography including PKI, database encryption, secure authentication and Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) communications.

nShield has been validated to the Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 140 Level 2, a widely accepted security benchmark for cryptographic devices.
