The Sun Ultra 80 has a crossbar-switch UPA interconnect to speed data within the system, a high-performance PCI bus and two UPA graphics slots support dual-monitor configurations and options for power users.

The Sun Ultra 80 workstation supports uniprocessor, dual-processor, and quad-processor configurations using 450MHz UltraSPARC-IIi processors. It is ideal for simulation design & analysis, modeling & virtual prototyping, animation, rendering, and video effects, geosciences, imaging & visualization, medical imaging, research & development and financial modeling.
